Rachel Zabel is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Paediatric Dietitian.
Rachel is passionate about helping children and families with feeding difficulties.
She is trained in SOS and Responsive Feeding Therapy and enjoys creating fun therapy sessions for children who are picky eaters or have restricted diets. As a mother of four, Rachel has firsthand knowledge of the frustrations associated with feeding problems and caring for a neurodiverse child. She provides a warm, empathetic and caring approach.
Rachel also specialises in assisting families where children are experiencing weight concerns (over- or underweight) or an eating disorder. She has completed additional training in motivational interviewing and counselling.
Rachel can also assist with a broad range of nutrition concerns in children:
- Babies and Toddlers: Cows milk protein allergy or lactose intolerance, faltering growth and supplements, introduction to solids.
- Children: Faltering growth, supplements and tube feeding. Fussy eating and problem feeding particularly related to Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, ASD, ADHD, Anxiety or ARFID.
- Adolescents: ASD/ADHD, eating disorders or early disordered eating behaviours (binge eating, anorexia nervosa, bulimia, EDNOS, ARFID).
- All ages: gut concerns and allergies including coeliac disease, iron deficiency, assessment of nutrient adequacy of the diet, constipation, loose bowels, reflux and IBS.
Rachel is available at Paeds in a Pod North Lakes, for in-person appointments, telehealth or home visits in the local area by negotiation.
