Joanne Stephen is passionate in supporting children and young people with autism to improve their communications – including speaking, listening and understanding language. She also supports children and families that encounter challenging mealtimes through education and in-clinic food therapy sessions.
Joanne develops treatment plans for the children and young people she sees. Each plan is customised to suit the individual and is centred on making a noticeable and positive difference in their lives.
Her support extends beyond the child or young person and includes upskilling their network of family, carers and educational providers. She is very consultative and inclusive in her approach as she nurtures great outcomes.
Joanne has worked in range of roles as a Speech Pathologist with an autism speciality prior to joining Paeds in a pod. This includes working in clinic settings, leading teams of speech pathologists, developing evidence-based resources and therapy strategies, and hosting workshops.
Joanne holds a Masters of Speech Pathology Studies (MSP), which she achieved in 2011 at the University of Queensland. She is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.
