As a general paediatrician, Dr Samantha Williams specialises in the health, growth and development of babies, children and teenagers. She supports families to manage the impacts of many different health conditions and illnesses. Her aim, through diagnosis, treatment and care, is to help her patients to thrive.
With studies and experience in child development, Dr Williams is also ideally placed to support children experiencing behavioural and learning difficulties. Her expertise includes completing development assessments and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) testing.
Dr Williams graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from James Cook University in Townsville in 2008. She worked in Townsville for two years prior to moving to Brisbane to begin her paediatric training, first at the Mater Children’s Hospital and then the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
As part of the Paeds in a Pod team, Dr Williams offers a holistic approach to patient care and is very happy and willing to work with and engage other specialists and therapists to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients. She takes great reward from being an integral part of families’ lives through every development stage.
A mother herself to three young children, she knows firsthand the everyday challenges that families face and the importance of receiving the right support in every aspect of life. Dr William’s spare time is spent paddle-boarding, bush walking and with her children, of course!
