Dr Frickey is ADOS certified, which means she is qualified to undertake standardised diagnostic testing for ASD.
Dr Frickey’s experience includes managing very complex child development cases, often in circumstances where the child has experienced trauma in the past or is experiencing trauma now.
Dr Frickey holds a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree, and Graduate Certificate in Public Health (PGCertPH), and achieved both at the University of Otago in New Zealand. She also holds a Fellowship in Community Paediatrics with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
She has worked at the Starship Children’s Hospital in New Zealand and completed a Fellowship in Child Protection during her time there. In Australia she has worked with the Child Development Service in Caloundra, at the Gympie Hospital, the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the Gold Coast University Hospital.
She is passionate about contributing toward enabling more families to access good quality health care. She has professional interests in health systems and clinical research trials in which she continues to work.
Her desire to help people led her to study medicine, and her very detailed approach and interest in digging deeply into all the issues and factors influencing her patients’ lives sees her deliver positive outcomes for children and their families, even in the most complex circumstances.
She works with other health professionals and care givers, as well as educators and parents, to provide a holistic patient and family-centred approach and to achieve the very best outcomes.
Away from work, Dr Frickey is a busy mum to two children, aged three years and 20 months. She loves nature and hiking, and for relaxation enjoys painting.
