  • Subcontract with extra support if you are new to private practice.

Why should you work in private practice?

As a contractor, you are your own boss. You can decide the number of days you work, the type of patients you see and when you take holidays. All of our Paediatricians have at least one-day a week of non-clinical work, providing free time to enjoy life outside of work.

Private practice is all about this flexibility. Fancy working from home and seeing patients on Telehealth, we can organise this for you. If you would like to step away from red tape and hospital bureaucracy, then private practice will suit you.

Why choose Paeds in a Pod?

Entering private practice can be daunting. We are skilled clinicians, however, often lack the knowledge, capability and energy to run a small business. No doctor wants to spend their time managing staff, providing IT support, book-keeping or being their own marketing manager. We remove all the administrative and logistical burdens of running a private practice so you can focus on patient care.

We offer a competitively low service fee due to our efficiencies of scale, ensuring you can maximise your take home income. We run annual billing workshops to ensure efficient use of your time.

We offer flexibility on where you can work, with locations across Queensland. If a location doesn’t suit you then we will create one!

What supports are available for you entering private practice?

New consultants are often worried about what supports are available. As a practice, we run weekly peer reviews and case discussion meetings. You can bring your complex cases and have a second opinion or listen to discussion from senior colleagues as learning opportunities. We run an informative private online forum with over 40 Paediatric specialists available to answer your clinical questions. Our dogma is that no question is too simple to ask, and we are here to support and help each other.

Our senior clinicians are also available for phone advice or 1:1 case discussions to ensure you never feel alone or isolated.

Do you like being part of a team?

We have a range of experienced allied health professionals, with Psychologists, OT’s, Speech therapists, Physiotherapists, Dieticians and Social workers. We value the input of our allied health colleagues who can provide timely assessments and participate in case conferences for complex families. This ensures optimal clinical care to our families, which is what we care about.

Our team members are like our family. We enjoy spending time away from the office together and we have two or three social events a year, ranging from family picnics in the park, to running events and bushwalking treks. This gives us time to come together outside of the confines of work to relax and bond. More importantly, this helps us to work better as a team.

For the right clinician, we can provide an opportunity to become a part owner of Paeds in a Pod, or even establish your own practice.
